Our outcome monitoring system is built on the foundations of the Every Child Matters agenda from which we have drawn our ‘pillars of resilience’. Each of these is based on the main principles of ECM and combines these with the six elements of resilience. This draws out the most relevant factors that address the individual needs of each young person. The model was developed 4 years ago, and is overseen by a team of multi–disciplinary professionals. This model has as its ethos an approach based on resolution, not management i.e. our objective is not only to modify behaviour but is to effect a long–term change in the young person's personality. Every part of our outcomes monitoring system works within a clinically governed, systematic, outcomes based assessment framework demonstrated in the production of bi–monthly (or as required)  reports.

The Continuum Group has now relaunched the highly successful House of Resilience in September 2010  with a strengthened version. New features in the reporting system include direct electronic access and specific sections which incorporate educational outcomes and safeguarding issues.

The enhanced model includes:

– More involvement from young person
– More educational feedback
– ‘Staying safe’ separate section
– Compilation of trends
– Easier to input – easier to understand
– Direct Electronic Access

What makes this a leading outcomes model in the sector?

We believe that resilient young people, no matter what their backgrounds, with the right support can
exceed expectations. This remains our target for every young person who comes into our care and
we will continue to refine our approach to assisting them to achieve their potential and a full role in
society. We believe that this clinically governed, measured approach is what Local Authorities
require to provide evidence of value for money and therefore we are pleased to share our work with
other professionals.
