Our group homes are located across the UK and offer a setting where three to six young people live as a community. These homes operate with staffing intensity sufficient to meet each young person's needs. In this way the pressures and demands in caring for more intense young people are spread across the staff group who have a diverse range of skills. The staff in our group homes encourage each young person to develop acceptable social behaviour by taking the opportunities group dynamics present. This can include working on team projects, conflict resolution and the development of social skills. Group homes can be segmented to reflect the diverse needs of the young people. The number of staff assigned can be varied to match the intensity of behaviour. Young people can enter our care directly into a group home or via the continuum, having progressed from complex needs or dual care. As a young person's sixteenth birthday approaches a plan can be developed which implements a further transition to the independence stage of their care plan.
